Where is the limit of large-format printing?

A printer once told me that any product with a print size of more than 3.658 meters x 5.486 meters would be called large format printing, while a product with a printing width of more than 21.946 meters would have to be classified as super large format.

So, what problems should print customers consider before starting a large-format printing job?

Most print service providers believe that customers should personally check and confirm proofs. Some printers may send a text-only layout proof to the customer; some printers may show the customer a regular proof produced on a calibrated color inkjet printer. In addition, they can provide customers with proofs produced on the press so that they can see the final output of the print.

Of course, printing clients can also go to the printing service provider's factory to witness the production of proofs. However, there are some limitations in doing so. One of the most important problems is color. The large-format images you see are produced on inkjet printers. These inkjet printers can only print CMYK, but they cannot print spot colors.

Large-format printing is currently very popular in the United States, and the equipment it uses is relatively inexpensive. As a result, more and more printing service providers are now willing to provide such services to customers.

Is there any limit to the size of large-format prints? My answer is: No.

As one printer puts it: If you want to print John Hancock in Boston on a mesh or other material, there is no problem. Our printing factory can indeed do this now.
