1 Corrugation and its use

2 Corrugated paper printing

As far as corrugated paper printing is concerned, there is no special printing method, whether it is relief printing, gravure printing or offset printing, it is the main printing method.

1) Letterpress printing (flexo printing)

In the embossing process of the beer box mentioned above, before the corrugated shape is processed in the corrugated shape, it is first sent to a flexo rotary press for printing, and then it is bonded to the corrugated core and another liner to form a corrugated packaging material.

Corrugated paper, whether it is rotary printing or single sheet printing, uses letterpress made of resin material. Flexographic printing using water-based ink can print accurately and at high speed regardless of the smoothness of the liner used to produce corrugated paper, which is a very effective printing method.

In addition, the opacity of flexo ink is good, and it can be printed in bright colors on the kraft base paper used for producing corrugated paper.

In the plate-making process of resin relief plate used in the past, a cleaning process using an organic solvent is indispensable. Recently, some plate materials considering environmental harmony have been adopted from the plate-making process, such as plates that can be used only by washing with water; Plates that can be used after thermal development; plates that use liquid photosensitive materials for UV curing (non-photosensitive liquid recovery and reuse) are all printing methods that incorporate environmental harmony.

However, in Japan, flexo printing has not made much progress in the process of high screen count, and most of the flexo products seen in stores are 80-line products. In Europe and America, especially in Europe, the printing method of corrugated paper material is flexo as the mainstream, and flexo products with 100 to 140 network lines can be seen.

The reason for the flexo printing of high screen lines is that it is vigorously adopting environmentally coordinated processes in Europe, and Japan has high requirements for the reproduction accuracy of printing. Exquisite printing is achieved by offset printing and gravure printing. It is a so-called grainless photo. Reproduce (175Lpi) the result of the consciousness working strongly.

2) Gravure printing

Although it is the same as the "gravure" grarure in the gravure printing method, the paper gravure printing machine is different from the flexible packaging gravure printing machine. It needs to apply a large printing pressure to achieve the transfer of ink. Therefore, the plate cylinder and the impression cylinder are large. Again, it is a printing method for high-volume products.

In addition, since gravure printing is a printing method different from flexo printing, the printed paper must have a good smoothness. Gravure printing with a large amount of ink coating is thick and expressive. Compared with offset printing and flexo printing, it is a printing method highly evaluated in depth printing. In order to respond to environmental measures to limit VOC emissions, it may be necessary to respond to water-based gravure in the future.

3) Lithography

The so-called offset printing is offset printing. Speaking of corrugated offset printing, the past process is generally to first perform offset printing on cardboard, etc., and then attach it to single-sided corrugated paper.

About 10 years ago, due to the widespread adoption of G-shaped corrugations, very thin G-shaped corrugated paper could be printed directly on offset presses. This direct offset printing process can reduce the number of processes compared to the process of printing on cardboard and then laminating with single-sided corrugation, so theoretically it has advantages in delivery time and cost, but the greater advantage lies in G-type corrugation. Offset printing can be carried out directly, which can greatly reduce paper consumption.

The reduction in energy consumption during production becomes a reduction in cost and a reduction in CO2 emissions; the reduction in transportation energy consumption is associated with a reduction in transportation costs and a reduction in CO2 emissions.

A practical example is that products such as digital cameras are often transported by air. Assuming that they are shipped to New York and the packaging is reduced by 10g, the air transportation stage can reduce CO2 emissions by 152.9g.

3 Application of heavy content packaging
