The next day, the mold was opened and the Falcon model was removed from the silica gel mixture. This leaves a perfect falcon shape.

Next, DePrisco chose to melt the 铋281 alloy consisting of 60% tin and 40% bismuth at 138 ° C, melted and poured into the mold.

Once the crucible is cooled down in the silicone mold, it can be pulled out. However, the metal falcon produced this time does not look very good, because bubbles are generated during the casting process.

So he tried to crush the bubbles in the Falcon model using a pressure vessel and an air compressor under a 60-80 Psi pressure. This device can help it make a better model, but there are still some small metal "balls" outside the Falcon. He realized that this was caused by bubbles in the silicone mold, not the flaws.

Therefore, he re-made the silicone mold, but this time he used pressure equipment.

Due to the use of air compressors and pressure vessels in the manufacture of silicone molds and metal castings, DePrisco finally produced a beautifully looking Falcon, almost identical to the PLA wire 3D printing model.
