When freezing, keep in mind that the volume may increase by approximately 10% due to ice formation. Therefore, always leave enough space in the container to prevent breakage or contamination. 2. Heat inactivation involves heating thawed serum at 56°C for 30 minutes. It's important to gently shake the serum during this process. This step is used to inactivate complement proteins, which can interfere with certain experiments. However, heat treatment is generally not recommended unless necessary, as it may increase sedimentation and affect serum quality. 3. Thawing serum should be done gradually.
