As we all know, in order to protect our homeland on which we live, it is more environmentally friendly to choose paper packaging materials. However, the corner lining materials currently used by packaging companies are mostly EPS. This is mainly due to the strong load-bearing capacity of EPS materials, which is suitable for transporting relatively heavy goods. For lighter goods, corrugated paper can be used. In addition to improving efficiency, saving transportation costs is also one of the most concerns of enterprises. Taking ocean shipping as an example, the space of each container is limited, and the maximum storage of goods is expected by every enterprise, but the amount of storage is scientific. This requires a full understanding of the strength and maximum load of the carton, a reasonable increase in the number of stacks, saving container space and improving utilization. Take Ricoh as an example: Before the improvement, each tray was allowed to hold only 20 packages. After repeated paper tests, it was found that up to 44 packages can be held without damaging the items. This improvement has produced a very obvious effect. Based on the annual purchase of 20,000 sets of pallets, the company will reduce the pallet fees by 37,000 yuan and transportation costs by 70,000 yuan per year.
Through continuous rationalization of packaging implementation, Shanghai Ricoh saved approximately RMB 1.45 million in cost in 2011.
