Case Study of Shijia Primary School HD Campus Media Center

The Shijia Primary School Media Center is designed to support a variety of content delivery methods, including lectures, interactive teaching programs, live broadcasts, and interviews with students and staff. These interviews can also serve as news segments or special features, complemented by recorded and broadcasted video content. The primary display focuses on the desktop, with the host’s screen rarely shown. Users can utilize platforms like PowerPoint, folders, or even web browsers to open videos, images, Word documents, and other digital materials. Additionally, tools such as Weibo, NBC, and online parent-teacher meetings are supported through video and visual platforms. The media center includes several dedicated areas: a news interview zone, an electronic background area, a large-screen mosaic display, a broadcasting zone, and a recording room. An independent control room is also set up for background editing and signal management. As a full HD campus TV station, it transmits high-definition digital video signals embedded with audio. The front-end video sources output SDI or HDMI signals (with HDMI converted to SDI using a video format converter), which are then routed through an HD-SDI matrix. After conversion back to HDMI, the high-definition signal is sent via a Super Six network cable to the studio LED splicing screen and G500 system. This setup integrates with the school's high-definition transmission and information distribution systems, using Gigabit switches to distribute HD video throughout the campus. This project enables centralized control of high-definition signals across the school, including in conference rooms, auditoriums, and the studio. It supports program recording, remote camera switching, and post-production editing. One of the key features of the Historic Media Center is its integration of multiple functions—campus TV, public broadcasting, television, surveillance, and information distribution. This integration prevents system isolation and improves overall efficiency, making it easier for the school to manage equipment. Students and teachers are encouraged to operate, control, and broadcast independently. The system is designed with user-friendliness in mind, ensuring that even non-experts can navigate it easily. Through an intuitive interface and simplified workflows, the system enhances automation and reduces the need for extensive training. This allows hosts, teachers, and students to work together efficiently, increasing broadcast frequency while minimizing manpower. The facility is equipped with modern technology and is visually impressive, featuring state-of-the-art setups that support both educational and broadcast purposes. Photos of the space show the advanced layout and professional environment where students and educators come together to create engaging content.
