Understanding colorless fluorescent ink

Invisible ink, also known as colorless fluorescent ink. It and the temperature change ink (or thermal ink), eye color shift ink, penetrating ink, metal color ink, anti-printing ink, etc., together constitute the current domestic security ink. Among them, the invisible ink has been accepted by many factories because of its mature technology, stable quality, complete varieties and various printing methods.

The colorless fluorescent ink is colorless or nearly white under normal light sources. It is invisible on paper or plastic film. Under UV light, different species will show different colors, such as red, yellow, green, blue, white, orange, and purple. Domestic has produced a colorless fluorescent series ink suitable for various materials (such as paper, various plastic films, metals, glass, rubber, etc.). Types include plastic, convex, silk, gravure and so on. However, the same ink, due to its different printing, security design, paper selection, ink imprinting and fluorescence effects will be very different.

Some of the experiences in this area of work are summarized below:

First, before using a colorless fluorescent ink, you must thoroughly wash the ink roller, ink tank, plate and other related parts to avoid mixing with other colors. It is advisable for a conditional printer to leave special equipment and replace it with a new ink roller.

Second, colorless fluorescent ink and ordinary color ink color matching. Colorless red ink; fluorescent effect is best. The colorless red ink blue or the colorless blue ink red ink is less effective. Different shades of background have a greater influence on fluorescence brightness, and the deeper the ink background, the worse the fluorescent effect.

Third, when the paper is printed, colorless fluorescent ink generally do the final color printing, otherwise it will be covered by other inks, affecting the luminous effect. When printing with clear plastic, the situation is different. The fluorescent ink is the final color when printed on the outside; it is the first color when printing on the inside.

Four, colorless fluorescent ink is not absolutely colorless or absolutely no imprint. On plain paper, even if it is printed with a completely transparent, colorless varnish, the difference in refraction and reflection coefficients of paper and varnish will produce visual differences, resulting in differences in the brightness of the oil and the surface of the paper.

Fifth, colorless fluorescent ink can only reduce the imprinting (or basic invisibility) under the following specific conditions: 1, the pattern or text to change the color block for the line; 2, the fluorescent ink is best printed on the background color, is conducive to cover the fluorescence Ink traces; 3, should choose better absorbent paper, invoice paper absorb ink performance better than copper paper and cardboard.

Six factors that affect the fluorescence brightness: 1, paper factors. Should choose securities or non-fluorescent whitening paper, so that the effect of fluorescence is better. When printing on paper (plain paper) with fluorescent whitening agent, the fluorescent effect is significantly reduced. The more brighteners the paper has, the weaker the fluorescent effect, and vice versa. Therefore, in the use of plain paper, as much as possible the use of low whitening agent paper; 2, ink thickness. The thinner the print ink layer, the weaker the fluorescent effect; the thicker ink layer, the stronger the fluorescent effect, but the more obvious the print is. When users use colorless fluorescent inks, if they can pay attention to these characteristics, they can certainly achieve good printing and counterfeiting effects.
