1, the cause of scraper line marks

1 No ink line marks. Primarily, ink is mixed with hard inorganic impurities such as sand. These hard particles are embedded in the edge of the blade and cause line marks. Sometimes this kind of scraper line marks also shows a dashed line, and the appearance of the scraper line marks can easily damage the printing and the scraper.

2 thicker continuous ink scraper line marks. This is mainly due to the fact that some of the coarser soft particles or impurities are lifted up by the squeegee or by the blade edge damage. This is the simplest and most common scraper line mark.

3 "Meteors" like scraper line marks. Such squeegee line marks are generally present in the dots of the printing plate roller or are not part of the engraved dot network. The cause of this kind of scraper line marks is more complicated. Over the years, people have been explaining from the aspects of ink, plate making, printing environment, etc. But so far, none of them is perfect. Better is the "active particle hypothesis."

Filament-like continuous scraper line marks. This type of scraper has small traces, like hair, often appearing in the printing process, and it is difficult to observe on the printing machine. When it is discovered, a large number of products have been printed, which is a great harm to the quality. These types of scraper line marks can be divided into two types: one is soft and can be lightly rubbed off with a bamboo knife, mainly caused by impurities; and the other type is hair filaments that appear at the beginning, and then slowly distributed in a strip shape. Can not be wiped with a bamboo knife, the reasons for its production is very complex, involving ink, plate making, ambient temperature, humidity, scraper hardness and other aspects, the specific analysis and processing of specific issues. In general, there are probably the following aspects:

a. Roller aspect. The surface finish of the roller is not good, the hardness of the chrome plating layer on the surface of the roller is not enough, the roller is too smooth, and no lubrication is easy to produce.

b. In terms of ink. The fineness of the ink is not enough, the pigment particles are too large, the particulate impurities are mixed in the ink use process; the ink dilution is not standardized, and the solvent impact phenomenon occurs; the ink has poor antistatic performance and the ink has poor lubricating performance. The use of high hardness pigments will produce lines.

c. Environmental aspects. The temperature, humidity and cleanliness of the air in the printing shop can also affect.

d. Scraper. Hard scrapers produce more line marks than soft scrapers. In addition, if a scraper line mark cannot be processed in time, a large bundle of scraper line marks will be generated around the line mark as the blade swings back and forth.

2. Countermeasures

When the knife is loaded, it must be smooth and careful. Before loading the knife, check if there is a gap in the scraper blade. After the knife is loaded, it must be carefully ground. If there is a knife thread during the printing process, it must be shut down and then carefully ground. It is forbidden to grind the oil into the ink.

The environment must be treated to reduce dust in order to troubleshoot. The color printing environment should be kept as close as possible. The air filter can be installed and the dust content can be verified. Otherwise, it is difficult to produce high-quality products.

The cutter wire caused by the plate roller generally appears in the shallow part of the net, such as rough plate, excessive unevenness in gradient, and unsuitable depth of the net. In general, metallographic sandpaper should be used to grind the plate. Pay attention to the uniform force during grind-up. In particular, it must be returned to the plate-making factory.

Reducing the viscosity of the ink, such as the viscosity is too high, the layout ink drying too fast, relatively increased the friction between the plate roller and the blade, making it difficult to scrape off the layout ink to form a knife wire.

If the knife wire is caused by ink, it is generally caused by garbage in the ink or the ink is not uniformly dissolved. The filter ink should be taken, and the solvent with strong dissolving power should be selected or replaced.
