French PVC new packaging film identification food contains genetically modified ingredients

According to overseas media reports, France recently introduced two new packaging films processed from ordinary polyvinyl chloride (PVC) materials to the market for the identification of the use of genetically modified raw materials for packaged foods.

According to reports, the use of this specially treated PVC film for packaging can identify whether its packaged foods such as soybean oil are processed from genetically modified soybean raw materials. Even for soybean foods containing only 5%-10% of the genetically modified ingredients, the film can be clearly identified.

The report said that this film is mainly used to package non-genetically modified soybeans planted in southern Europe, as a follow-up inspection to ensure that it will not be incorporated into genetically modified soybean raw materials during circulation.
