New red-violet UV fluorescent ink makes counterfeiters have no way

Kate Rattigan, head of Linx's ink production department, said: "The counterfeiters have been able to duplicate the barcodes printed on blue and purple UV inks. Linx Clear Security Ink 3160 uses a red colorant that is difficult to duplicate.

Another advantage of using this ink is that the packaging manufacturer can add smart codes to the product to ensure that it does not mix up with other encodings.
