1. FM Screening (SFM)

FM screening technology is to use some particle ideas as independent pixel units. They are randomly distributed in a specific unit area, and their area varies according to the calculation method.

Compared with amplitude modulation screening, FM screening has many advantages. In the fields of offset printing, flexographic printing and news printing, it has excellent development prospects. However, due to the small dots of FM screening, the requirements on the suitability of paper, ink and equipment are high, and there are difficulties in the promotion and application.

2. High-fidelity color screening technology

In order to further improve the level of printing process, improve the resolution of printing equipment, give full play to the advantages of computer plate-making technology, and fundamentally improve the quality of copying of printed matter. A high-fidelity, true-color screening technology was born. High-fidelity outlet is a new standard set for FM outlet technology and is a pure software method. High-fidelity color adopts FM dots and uses color separation technology of more than four colors. Compared with four-color screening technology, it has significant improvement in color reproduction range, printing density, sharpness and gradation. High-fidelity screening technology is the mainstream of future screening technology.

3. AM Screening (SAM)

The amplitude modulation screening technology is based on the center element of the grid, the center distance between two adjacent dots is unchanged, the arrangement of the dots follows a certain rule, and the shape of the dots is an artificially designed dot type. The size of the pixel value controls the size of the dot area. It changes the size of the dots to express the depth and lightness of the image layer when the number of screen dots is unchanged.

Computer AM screening is basically the same as electronic color separation screen. The fine adjustment of dot shape and dot shape adjustment algorithm is a difficult point in amplitude modulation screening technology.

In short, due to the regular distribution of the dots, it is determined that the amplitude modulation screen is prone to interference fringes during multicolor overprinting, and the screen angle of the color separation version must be strictly controlled.
