National University of Defense Technology proposes a new scheme for rapid cooling of nanomechanical oscillators

In the solution proposed in this paper, the diamond nitrogen vacancy color center is integrated at the vibrating end of the cantilever nanomechanical vibrator. Compared with some of the cooling solutions proposed by the predecessors, this work uses the quantum interference effect to suppress and strengthen the heating and cooling effects in the system by cleverly applying an external light field that satisfies the two-photon resonance condition, thereby achieving the nanomechanical vibrator's Faster cooling.
