In alcohol dampening, the fountain solution is composed of alcohol additives and water. The dampening system of Heidelberg presses can automatically mix alcohol, additives, and water in a certain proportion into a fountain solution that can meet the print requirements.
The working principle of the Heidelberg printing press dampening system is composed of an alcohol absorber, an additive absorber, a water pump, a water tank and a refrigeration system, and an intermediate return water tank. The water flow with high velocity flows through the additive absorber so that the internal air pressure is lower than the atmospheric pressure of the outside air. Due to the effect of the air pressure difference, the additive is drawn into the water tank.
The principle of alcohol extraction is basically the same as that of additives. The difference is that the float in the alcohol device detects whether the alcohol in the fountain solution has reached the set ratio from time to time. If the control device is not reached, the valve will be opened to suck Alcohol, on the other hand, is turned off. The water supply pump sends the fountain solution to the heat exchanger in the refrigeration system. The heat exchanger cools the fountain solution through the water supply pipe and sends it to the fountain water tank of the machine. The water return system keeps the fountain solution in the water tank at a certain level for printing. This is how the dampening system works.
During the use of Heidelberg dampening unit, the phenomenon that the additive absorber sometimes does not absorb the additive may occur. According to analysis, the following reasons may appear.
1. The water pressure of the external water source is too low. According to its working principle, the water entering the additive absorber must have a certain flow rate, so that a negative pressure can be generated to suck the additive into the water tank.
2. The control solenoid valve is damaged, and the float switch fails. If the water supply solenoid valve is damaged, the float switch is damaged, the float switch cannot open the solenoid valve, the external water source cannot enter the additive absorber, and the failure of the float switch will cause the solenoid valve to fail to work properly.
3. The problem of the use of additives. This is a major reason. Because the inside of the additive extractor is composed of smaller holes, if the selected additive is prone to precipitation, these precipitated additives can easily block the small holes inside the extractor, causing the additive to fail to work properly. When selecting additives, use liquid additives that are not likely to cause precipitation and crystallization, and powder additives should not be used.
How to maintain the Heidelberg dampening unit during use! Because the powder spraying device and printing paper of the printing machine will generate a lot of dust. These dusts can easily enter the dampening unit. Most of the problems related to dampening units encountered in production are caused by improper maintenance and timely cleaning. Therefore, special attention should be paid to the following problems in production work:
1. All filters and filters should be cleaned in time.
2. Cleaning of the cooling system. If the condenser is not cleaned in time, the heat of Freon (also known as refrigerant) cannot be dissipated, resulting in the cooling system not working properly.
3. The cleaning of the water tank and the sediment caused by the fountain solution should be cleaned in time. If it is not cleaned, it will easily block the water supply and return pipes and the heat exchanger, resulting in the system not working properly.
