Pathfinder is raising funds to expand its outdoor tourism ecosystem. On June 12, 2015, the company announced plans to issue additional capital, targeting no more than five specific projects and issuing up to 80 million shares in a private placement. The total fundraising amount will not exceed 2.105 billion yuan, with the funds allocated toward six key initiatives: the Pathfinder Cloud project, the camping and skiing multi-functional experience centers, the Greenfield Outdoor Travel O2O platform, an outdoor e-commerce vertical platform, an outdoor security support service system, and a liquidity supplement. Shares resumed trading on June 8.
Of the total amount, 517 million yuan will be invested in the Pathfinder Cloud project, aiming to become a leading integrated service platform for the outdoor ecosystem over a three-year construction period. Another 822 million yuan will go toward the camping and skiing experience centers, which are set to open in Beijing, Shanghai, and other locations. A total of 10 multi-purpose camps will be built, offering both tourism destinations and themed travel experiences, with a two-year development timeline.
The O2O Outdoor Travel project will receive 200 million yuan, aiming to provide users with a one-stop service for outdoor travel information, route planning, product recommendations, and financial services. The outdoor e-commerce project and the security support platform will each get 188 million and 178 million yuan, respectively. Additionally, 200 million yuan is reserved for working capital.
Pathfinder stated that the successful completion of this private placement will accelerate its strategy to build a comprehensive outdoor ecosystem. It will further solidify its position as a leading provider of outdoor lifestyle solutions and bring it closer to becoming a strong promoter of sports, outdoor activities, and nature-based travel. The company aims to evolve from a single supplier of outdoor gear into a full-service expert in outdoor living, enhancing its business structure and overall market presence.
